Most Expensive Premier League Players by Club - Part 1
Here are the most expensive players in the Premier League, by individual club.
Note: This list is compiled by current Market Value.
AFC Bournemouth
Nathan Aké - £31.5m
The Dutch Centre-Back has consistently been one of The Cherries’ best players since his initial move from Chelsea, so this comes as no surprise considering that he’s still only 25 Years of Age.
Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang & Alexandre Lacazette - £63m
Originally, The Gunners’ new signing Nicolas Pépé was the most expensive player at the club, as of 12th September 2019 (as per TransferMarkt)
Although he’s showed definitive signs of promise since his move to England, Pépé hasn’t been able to find consistency and as a result, his Market Value has decreased to £58.5m.
Of course, this now means that both Aubameyang and Lacazette jump ahead of him, with ice cool £63m price tags cast above their heads.
Aston Villa
Jack Grealish - £31.5m
No prizes for guessing this one.
Grealish is the name on everybody's lips when there’s any mention of the England National Team.
The 24-year-old is having a brilliant season in an inconsistent Villa side.
So much so, that he’s been linked with a blockbuster move to Manchester United - although it goes without saying, Villa most certainly wouldn’t let him go for his current Market Value.
Brighton & Hove Albion
Neal Maupay - £19.8m
By a sum of £1.8m, Maupay just edges it over close second Lewis Dunk, to claim the top spot as Brighton’s most expensive player.
The Frenchman is enjoying a successful campaign in his maiden Premier League season, chipping in with 7 goals and 2 assists in 25 appearances - so it’s no wonder his market value has continued to increase.
His form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Napoli linked with a £40m move as recent as the January Transfer Window.
Burnley
James Tarkowski - £22.5m
Unusually, it’s a defender who is the most expensive player at Burnley.
It’s not difficult to see why though - the now 27-year-old has been a rock at the heart of Burnley’s defence for the past few seasons and fits well into Dyche’s defensive infrastructure.
Capable of playing out from the back and showing great positional awareness, his value has only increased since his initial move from Brentford in 2016.
It’s no wonder Leicester City were looking at him, following the departure of Harry Maguire.
Chelsea
N’golo Kante - £90m
The two time premier league winner tops the list by some way, with Jorginho rather surprisingly ranked second, with a market value of £58.5m
Since that historical season with Leicester, Kante has comfortably asserted himself as one of the best players in his position, often covering multiple positions with his incredible work rate.
He acts as the core for this Chelsea side and they look lost without him, so his price tag comes as no surprise.
Crystal Palace
Wilfred Zaha - £49.5m
Similar to the Grealish example with Aston Villa, no one will be shocked that Zaha has the highest market value within the Crystal Palace setup.
Although he hasn’t quite managed to hit the heights of last season, Zaha still looks very threatening on the attack, but due to his unpredictability struggles to find consistency.
He’s recently admitted that he wants to play Champions League Football, but it’s hard to imagine Crystal Palace would let him go for any less than £50m.
Everton
Richarlison - £54m
It’s been another good season so far for the Brazilian Winger.
One may think that the appointment of an elite coach in the form of Carlo Ancelotti can only aid his development in this Everton side.
You would be right in thinking that.
Since Ancelotti has come in, Richarlison has 1 assist and 3 goals to his name in the 7 games that Ancelotti has taken charge of.
Expect his market value to steadily increase over the coming years, with transfer links to Barcelona consistently looming.
Leicester City
James Maddison - £54m
Another name frequently on the lips of England National Team enthusiasts.
Perhaps his biggest strain to book a place in the starting XI comes in the form of Jack Grealish - due to the pair being positionally similar.
It’s been a successful season so far for the 23-year-old and despite links to Manchester United and Tottenham, it looks as though he may commit to The Foxes for the foreseeable future.
Liverpool
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané - £135m
Amongst a sensational season for Liverpool, it’s fair to say both Salah and Mané are a huge reason as to why The Reds find themselves in such a dominant league position.
In just 23 games this season, Salah has contributed with 14 goals and 6 assists. He’s an integral part in the infamous front three, as is his counterpart Sadio Mané.
Mané has had a very similar season to Salah, chipping in with 12 goals and 8 assists, in 23 Premier League games.
To put their quality into perspective, both Mané and Salah have contributed a combined 40 goals for a Liverpool side who has (at the time of writing this) scored 61 goals in total.
With the end product that these two players consistently amass, it makes their combined market value of £270m seem relatively cheap.
With the Most Expensive Players from 10 Premier League Clubs covered, that marks the end of Part 1.
